Guiding information 6:10: coaching session 7 with the Head Teacher
As usual, arrange the time and place for this coaching meeting, with the Head Teacher, at least one or two days in advance.
In a coaching session of about 60 minutes:
- Describe to the Head Teacher your recent work on Unit 6 and any successes you have had and any challenges you have faced in understanding the process of coaching. Ask for the Head Teacher’s assistance in helping you to think through the challenges. (No more than 20 minutes)
- Discuss the two practice coaching sessions where you have been the coach (without revealing the identity of the learning partners). Tell the Head Teacher about some of the open questions you used and how the learning partner responded. Also, tell the Head Teacher about what you might do or say differently next time. (No more than 25 minutes)
- Describe your efforts to involve others in your work; think of Learning task 6.2, 6.3, 6.7 and 6.8. How has this assisted both you and your cooperating colleague? (No more than 15 minutes.)
