Guiding information 4.9: coaching session 5 with the Head Teacher
As usual, arrange the time and place for this coaching meeting, with the Head Teacher, at least one or two days in advance.
In a coaching session of about 60 minutes:
- Discuss what you have done to move School Improvement Plan forwards since your last session and ask the Head Teacher to tell you what he/she has done. Agree on any further action needed over the next few weeks. (No more than 20 minutes)
- Explain what you have done in terms of carrying out the agreement reached in coaching session 3(Learning task 2.11),when you agreed to undertake one new action to assist the Head Teacher to do his leadership for learning work better. Be prepared to answer question that the Head Teacher may have. The Head Teacher will also tell you about his/her actions to assist you. Be ready to ask questions to clarify and help your understanding. (No more than 20 minutes)
- Discuss how the coaching sessions, the work on School Improvement Plan and the work on visits and observations have changed/improved your working relationship with others in the school. (No more than 15 minutes)
- Celebrate your successes and think about how you can improve things that have not been so successful. (No more than 5 minutes)
