Guiding information 4.2: Sharing the learning and reflection

Please engage two other middle-level leaders in a short (15 – 30 minutes) discussion on visits and observations. You should be the Chair and Secretary of this meeting!

Here is a plan for the discussion:

  1. Welcome and thank your colleagues for taking time to join you in this discussion and explain that it is part of your work on a course you are studying.
  2. Explain that in this meeting you will explore the meaning of visits and observations and ask for their help on a few questions.
  3. Explain the difference between a class visit and an observation.
  4. Ask them if they think these visits and observations take place often enough. (If they believe that visits and observations do take place often, ask them their reasons for this.)
  5. Ask them if they can think of reasons why visits and observations do not take place often enough and what can be done to make sure more are done.
  6. Thank them again for their time and useful ideas.
