Please engage two other middle-level leaders in a short (15 – 30 minutes) discussion on visits and observations. You should be the Chair and Secretary of this meeting!
Here is a plan for the discussion:
- Welcome and thank your colleagues for taking time to join you in this discussion and explain that it is part of your work on a course you are studying.
- Explain that in this meeting you will explore the meaning of visits and observations and ask for their help on a few questions.
- Explain the difference between a class visit and an observation.
- Ask them if they think these visits and observations take place often enough. (If they believe that visits and observations do take place often, ask them their reasons for this.)
- Ask them if they can think of reasons why visits and observations do not take place often enough and what can be done to make sure more are done.
- Thank them again for their time and useful ideas.
