Guiding information 3.11: Coaching session 4 with the Head Teacher

Arrange the time and place for this third coaching meeting, with the Head Teacher, at least one or two days in advance.

In coaching session of about 60 minutes : 

  1. Show your Task 3.8  to the Head Teacher and ask him/her to read it through. Be prepared to justify your marking and answer other questions. Be prepared to adjust where the marks have been placed if the Head Teacher feels strongly that something is not right. (No more than 20 minutes.  
  2. Ask the Head Teacher how he/she feels about the general health of School Improvement Plan at the school. You could, tactfully, express some of your own ideas, from the second part of learning Task 3.8. (No more than 20 minutes)
  3. Listen carefully to the Head Teacher’s ideas on what others could do to assist SIP and note them down. Again, you could bring in some of your own ideas from learning Task 3.9. (No more than 10 minutes)
  4. See if you can decide on some actions you could both take, perhaps together, over the next few weeks to help the SIP move forward from where it is now. (No more than 10 minutes).
