Guiding information 7.9: coaching session 8 with the Head Teacher
This will be the eighth and final coaching session with the Head Teacher in this course. As usual, arrange the time and place for this coaching meeting, at least one or two days in advance.
In a coaching session of about 60 minutes:
- Thank the Head Teacher for his/her support and participation in the work you have done on assessment influencing future practice and give them the record of the meeting you prepared in learning task 7.7. Describe to the Head Teacher your recent work on Unit 7 and any successes you have had and any challenges you have faced in understanding the process of assessment and planning for change. Ask for the Head Teacher’s assistance in helping you to think through the challenges. (No more than 20 minutes)
- Discuss the preparations for the meeting with middle-level leaders and how you persuaded them to undertake a task and attend the meeting. Also discuss the running of the meeting and the conclusions. (No more than 25 minutes)
- Describe your efforts to involve others in your work. How has this assisted both you and your cooperating colleague? Is it likely to lead to better implementation of the School Improvement Plan Annual Action Plan? (No more than 15 minutes.)
