The Rwanda Education Board has stated that school improvement planning is a process that will lead to improvements in student learning, teaching, leadership and management at schools. Rwanda Education Board has issued guidelines to ensure consistent, evidence-based data-driven decision making for improvement. The guidelines outline eleven steps: 1. Forming a school improvement planning team (SIPT) 2. Collecting data 3. Analysing and interpreting the data 4. Identifying the priority problems 5. Identifying problem root causes 6. Setting the strategic direction for the school 7. Setting student learning goals and objectives for alleviating problem root causes 8. Developing a (3 year) school improvement plan 9. Developing an annual (1 year) action plan 10. Implementing the annual action plan 11. Monitoring and evaluation. |
