ICT as object, it refers to learning about ICT, mostly organized in a specific course. What is being learned depends on the type of education and the level of students. Education prepares students for the use of ICT in education, future occupation and social life.

ICT as an ‘assisting tool’. ICT is used to as a tool, for example, while making assignments, collecting data and documentation, communicating and conducting research. Typically, ICT issued independently from the subject matter.

ICT as a medium for teaching and learning. This refers to ICT as a tool for teaching and learning itself, the medium through which teachers can teach and learners can learn.

ICT as a tool for organization and management in schools.

Advances in information technology have revolutionized how people communicate and learn in nearly every aspect of modern life except for education. The education system operates under the antiquated needs of an agrarian and industrial America. The short school day and the break in the summer were meant to allow children to work on family farms. Schools have an enduring industrial mentality placing students in arbitrary groups based on their age regardless of their competencies.

Technology has failed to transform our schools because the education governance system insulates them from the disruptions that technology creates in other organizations. The government regulates schools perhaps more than any other organization. Rules govern where students study, how they will learn, and who will teach them. Education regulation governs the relationships of actors in the system and stymies the impact of innovative technologies. Furthermore the diffuse system of governance creates numerous veto points to limit innovation.

To overcome these obstacles, we must persuade teachers that technology will empower them and help their students learn. We argue that there are five strategies for successful teacher adoption of education technology and that these principles will help fulfill the potential that Edison saw a century ago:

Schools must use technology that empowers teachers. Teachers rightly reject education technologies that divert their attention from instruction. The best education technologies enable teachers to do more with fewer resources. Communication platforms like Twitter, Facebook, or Tumblr enable dynamic communication with students. Teacher-empowering technologies include mobile apps that grade written student work and provide lesson plan databases. School systems need to aggressively track what works for their teachers and put all other unworkable technologies aside

Today, the ICT is an essential tool in teaching and learning process. we often claiming that we don't have documents that are adapted to the new curriculum and yet some of our schools are well equiped with computers and internet connection. with such facilities it is not a big problem if there no enough hard documents or textbooks. not only to students, even teachers may use them to teach without any other problem. with this,

stdents mya conduct research and be familiar with the world web engines

orgnize the lesson contents and prepare presenations and works in groups

to be aware of the education worl class

communicate easily among themselves and with their teachers, etc.

today, there so many school management softwares facilitating the communication of students with their parents, data management, report forms production, keeping data, school data information management etc.

Re: How could ICT be used to help student’s solve problems?

Technology supports problem-solving in a number of ways. It enables you to identify problems quicker and easier and helps you better analyze a complex problem. Technology students are especially encouraged to be innovative and to want to improve a current situation by encountering and solving problems, in an advanced way. There can be different approaches to teaching problem-solving with the aid of technology: Students should be encouraged to concentrate not on whimsical wants or fanciful products, rather they should apply their considerable problem solving skills to attain something substantial that will improve their present situation and benefit them in the future. They should be encouraged to find solutions from a broad range of technological and non-technological realms. The focus and procedure of teaching problem solving using technology should be flexible. This can be directed by how the teacher helps the student select a problem and frame the context of a problem. Students should examine situations (big and small, near and far, individual and societal) and use their creative problem solving abilities to try to plan what is best. They should be taught to weigh short-term gains and costs with long-term gains and costs by keeping in view the educational reform, personal lifestyle changes it may lead to with the incorporation of new technology in regulation with governmental action. The tendency in education should be to employ the term ‘problem solving’ generically to include such diverse activities as coping with marital problems and trouble-shooting electronic circuits.

Re: How could ICT be used to help student’s solve problems?

An important use of technology is its capacity to create new opportunities for curriculum and instruction by bringing real-world problems into the classroom for students to explore and solve. Technology can help to create an active environment in which students not only solve problems, but also find their own problems. This approach to learning is very different from the typical school classrooms, in which students spend most of their time learning facts from a lecture or text and doing the problems at the end of the chapter.

ICT Could be used to help students in  solving their problems in these ways:

Organization

Taking notes in class is often one of the major problems for  students. In this case Teachers can often overwhelm with pages of information during class lectures, causing students to rush their penmanship and jot down words full of errors accidentally. Laptops can provide a better understanding of class lectures, keeping up with the pace of note taking. Even if a student does not own a laptop, it is best to edit and restructure notes on a desktop at home, since it can help in preparing easier and more efficient ways to study for tests later on.

Fewer Burdens

Laptops are beneficial for students who do not want to carry binders and notebooks everywhere they go. Backpacks become heavier with cumbersome textbooks and other materials crammed inside. Messenger bags are a great alternative for students who own a laptop, because the weight distribution goes over the shoulder, reducing stress and preventing back strain.

Performance

Students need computers for researching material. Libraries are often extremely time-consuming, and they are not easily accessible for every student. The Internet is perhaps the most convenient and efficient method to browse information and analyze its usage. Additionally, most universities allow their students free access to their Web-based archives. Asking for help from teachers and other students through email or simply brainstorming ideas is another reason computers are important for students.

Deals

There are always good deals floating around in stores, but rarely do they top back-to-school promotions. Most computer stores offer great deals for students if they buy a computer, such as a free printer, free Microsoft Office programs, carrying bags or a certain percentage off the regular price. The Apple store even offers a free iPod for students who buy a Mac Book at the start of the school year.

Let students create original digital content.

By providing opportunities for students to create products (rather than continuously consuming pre-generated material), they gain a sense of ownership. Creative thinking spans disciplines and can involve real world learning. It allows the creator to take intellectual risks and try new things. Many times, students feel a sense of pride in sharing something they have created. This can lay a foundation for future skill development. Listed below are resources to help accomplish this in the classroom.

ICT tools like phones, computers and internet help students as well as teachers to communicate and study the lifestyle of others. using ICT tool also enable students to solve the problems they meet in their life. not only life problems but also to complete the given assignment and submission of them, students use the ICT tools communicate to heir parents and friends in sense that if there are any obstacle in their studies should get hospitality very soon from either parents or friends. internet is used to copy how others solved the problem of the same category by just reading the updates on the internet. In matter of social life internet is used in communication, good purchasing and banking services.

The role of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is so great and growing significantly in teaching and learning. The flipped classroom model has grown in popularity as it is the only blended learning model that utilized both in class time and out of class time. There is a need to evaluate the quality of the best flipped learning approach that could enhance students' ICT skills as mastering ICT skill is becoming the key of learning . The ability to educate students for higher order learning using technology does enhance the learning processes as compared to the traditional settings. There are only a few studies conducted on the students taking ICT subject and none have in depth studies in their ICT skills. Therefore, this paper proposed a new flipped classroom model that increases students' ICT skills. The model incorporates the Social Constructivism theory and Flipped Classroom Model that are derived from blended learning. There are also two learning strategies used in this model which is Competency-based Learning and Inquiry-based Learning which helps to enhance students' ICT Problem Solving Skill.

Re: How could ICT be used to help student’s solve problems?

by Aphrodis Ndorimana -

ICT can help the students to solve the problems in the following five aspects:
  • Collaborative and Cooperative learning: ICT encourages interaction and cooperation among students, teachers regardless of distance which is between them. It also provides students the chance to work with people from different cultures and working together in groups, hence help students to enhance their communicative skills as well as their global awareness
    • Creative Learning: ICT promotes the manipulation of existing information and to create one's own knowledge to produce a tangible product or a given instructional purpose.
    • Integrative learning: ICT promotes an integrative approach to teaching and learning, by eliminating the synthetic separation between theory and practice unlike in the traditional classroom where emphasis encloses just a particular aspect.
    • Evaluative learning: Use of ICT for learning is student-centered and provides useful feedback through various interactive features. ICT allow students to discover and learn through new ways of teaching and learning which are sustained by constructivist theories of learning rather than students do memorisation and rote learning.

ICT has play an essential role for every students in their education, the purposes of ICT for students are to enable them to acquire the skills that needed for the future higher studies or the digital world, which then help them to easily get a job in future. Besides, the critical thinking and analytic skill are needed for students in their future. ICT with the purpose to promote those thinking and skills of students by self developing. Thus, student will no longer depends on the teacher anymore as it would transform the classroom environment from teacher- centric to student-centric learning. In addition, the purpose of ICT is to offer an effective learning environment for students which then increase their performance in academic. Lastly, ICT is to enhance the existing curriculum and pedagogy for teaching and learning.
