1. In reference to EULA, differentiate between open source software and proprietarysoftware. [5]
2. Demonstrate step-by-step how to you would partition hard disk. [5]
3. Outline system requirements that need to be considered to install Windows 10 [5]
operating system.
4. Explain why it is good practice to install genuine copy of an operating system. [5]
UNIT 5
Assessment criteria: Students can correctly compute numbers in different base systems, and do arithmetic operations on binary numbers.
Unit 6: Boolean Algebra and Logic Gates
Assessment criteria: Students utilise laws of Boolean algebra on Boolean expressions, draw logic circuit from given expression, derive correct expression from given circuit.
Unit 7: Introduction to Computer Algorithms
Attempt all questions
Unit 8: Control Statements and One Dimensional Arrays
Assessment criteria: Students can reasonably derive logic where conditional statements, iterative statements (loops) and one dimensional arrays can be used in solution algorithm

Assessment criteria: Students are able to explain programming paradigms.
Unit 10: Introduction to C++ Programming
Assessment criteria: Students can write and execute a given algorithm into C ++ programming language
Unit 11: Expressions and Operators in C++ Language
Assessment criteria: Students can apply operators in C++ language in correct place and in proper order to get intended result.
Unit 12: Control Statements in C++
Assessment criteria: Students can use control statements in C++ program to effectively implement conditional branching and iterations.
Unit 13: Functions in C++ Language
Assessment criteria: Students can define and use functions in C++ program.
Unit 14: Arrays in C++
Assessment criteria: Students can use arrays and strings in a C++ program.
Unit 15: Introduction to Operating Systems
Assessment criteria: Students can explain the role, the types and the evolution of computer operating systems, Use GUI in Linux, Use commands in MS-Dos and Linux.
Unit 16: Hypertext Markup Langauge (HTML)
Assessment criteria: Students can build standards compliant web pages using HTML.
Unit 17: Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)
Assessment criteria: Students can build standards compliant web pages using HTML and CSS.
