Learning Task 5.9 : How can I promote inclusive education at my school?

Here are some ideas to promote inclusive education

  1. Speak to the Special Educational Needs focal teacher and School Subject Leaders and ask how you can help them.                                                                                                                                     
  2. Identify pupils who are at risk of not being included.
  3. Speak to the Head Teacher on improving measures to promote inclusion.
  4. Participate in Community of Practices and make sure it is on the agenda.
  5. Make sure that inclusion is on the list of items for Continuous Professional Development.
  6. Participate or lead a Continuous Professional Development session on inclusive education.
  7. Talk to teachers about it in your normal interactions and meetings.
  8. Make sure that it is a topic for discussion in meetings of parents.
