11. Responsive consequences in case of troubles
As an eTutor, you should empathise with learners who experience stress and remind them politely but firmly incoming deadlines. If they consistently miss deadlines, you should discuss consequences with the Programme Leader. Consequences may be additional assignments or not getting a certificate. If a learner sabotages the course, you will need to find out the reason. The troublemaker may be overchallenged or under-challenged (overqualified for the course). You will have to ensure that the troublemaker does not contaminate other learners or make the course an unpleasant experience for other learners. If you are unable to negotiate a satisfactory solution with the troublemaker, you will have to discuss the issue with the Programme Leader. An official email may be sent to the learner giving her/him warning or notifying her/him of consequences that may include banning her/him from the course.
